New Zealand opens borders for travelers

New Zealand has announced the opening of borders for some travelers after more than two years in isolation due to COVID-19.

Report informs, citing Reuters, that, according to PM Jacinda Ardern, the vaccinated travelers from Australia can enter the country without having to quarantine. The process starts from April 12, unlike the previous plans to resume it from July.

Tourists the United States, Great Britain, and Singapore can now visit the country from May 1.

The border closure was among the first steps the country took to curb COVID-19 more than two years ago, the prime minister said, adding that border reopening will promote the recovery of the country's economy for the rest part of the year.

All travelers must be vaccinated and submit negative tests for COVID, but they won't have to quarantine upon arrival.
