New Zealand imposes sanctions against dozens of businessmen and officials from Russia

New Zealand authorities have imposed sanctions on 51 Russian entrepreneurs and 24 civil servants of the new regions of the Russian Federation, Report informs, citing New Zealand Herald.

According to it, among the businessmen on the black list is the chairman of the board of directors of the metallurgical and mining company Evraz Alexander Abramov. His family members are also subject to sanctions. As follows from the list published on the website of the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the sanctions, which will come into force on Wednesday, were also imposed on the chairman of the board of Gazprombank Andrei Akimov, the former president, member of the board of directors, chairman of the board and co-owner of Lukoil PJSC Vagit Alekperov, general director, Chairman of the Board of Gazprom Neft Alexander Dyukov, former Chairman of the Board of Directors of AFK Sistema Corporation Vladimir Yevtushenkov, General Director of Interros, Chairman of the Board of Norilsk Nickel Vladimir Potanin, General Director of the state corporation Rosatom Alexei Likhachev and other businessmen.

In addition, the list includes Deputy Prime Minister of the Kherson Region Vladimir Bespalov, Head of the Government of the Zaporizhzhia Region Anton Koltsov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Donetsk People's Republic Yevgeny Solntsev and a number of other officials from these regions, as well as the Luhansk People's Republic.

Virtually all restricted persons will be banned from visiting New Zealand, their planes from entering the country's airspace, and ships from entering ports. They will not be able to use the services, their assets will be frozen. At the same time, exceptions were made for Abramov in terms of assets and services.

The authorities have introduced new restrictions on the export and import of luxury goods, such as New Zealand wine, seafood, Russian vodka, caviar, as well as restrictions in the oil and gas sector.
