Netherlands freezes Russian assets for 632M euros

Financial institutions in the Netherlands have so far frozen Russian assets for 632 million euros, reads a report by Dutch Foreign Minister Wopke Hoekstra sent to the national parliament on April 22, Report informs citing TASS.

He added that in total, the country froze 632 million euros and blocked operations for 274 million euros. In addition, the situation with 20 yachts has been taken under special control. Vessels cannot leave the Netherlands, be delivered or handed over to their owners due to the sanctions imposed on the Russian Federation. The customs authorities checked 33,500 containers and considered 63,000 declarations for the export of goods.

Earlier, the Netherlands appointed former Foreign Minister Stef Blok as National Coordinator for Sanctions Compliance and Enforcement. His duties include coordinating the activities of relevant ministries, departments and organizations aimed at freezing Russian assets, blocking financial transactions and confiscating movable and immovable property.
