Tropical cyclone Sarai lashed the island nation of Fiji, and authorities evacuated about two thousand people, one person is missing, Report informs, citing the National office for prevention and liquidation of emergencies of the country.

"We had reports on a missing person in the province of Naitasiri, search and rescue operation is underway. 48 evacuation centers are working, 1970 evacuees exit across the country as of 10 am today, " the Department said in a Facebook post.

The cyclone hit Fiji, bringing heavy rains and strong winds to the region. Wind gusts reached 140 kilometers per hour. According to the media, several houses were destroyed, trees downed, and power cut off in some places because of the cyclone. Following Fiji, the hurricane is to head towards the state of Tonga.
