Militants of the Taliban have entered the capital of the northern Afghan province of Jowzjan, the city of Sheberghan, and fighting is underway, Report informs referring to RIA Novosti.
According to sources from the Afghan TV channel Tolo News, the Taliban set fire to the house of Marshal and former Vice President Abdul Rashid Dostum in the city.
In turn, a local official confirmed to Xinhua News Agency that the militants had entered the city and noted that the fighting continued.
The confrontation between the government forces and the Taliban has been continuing for several years in Afghanistan.
