The authorities of Los Angeles, one of the megacities in the United States, announced the introduction of mandatory home isolation for all city residents due to the increase in cases of COVID-19, Report says, citing RIA Novosti.

According to a document published on the website of Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti, "the city is now close to a crushing tipping point," after which the number of hospitalizations will begin to exceed the capacity of the Hospital Fund. "The spread of COVID-19 means that we must restore some of the stricter restrictions that were imposed in the spring," the decree says.

According to the mayor's decision, the ordinance, introduced earlier in the summer, is temporarily replaced by another order "necessary to protect the life and property of Los Angeles," which takes effect immediately.

"All persons residing in Los Angeles are required to stay at home," the order says. Authorities should provide temporary shelter for the homeless. You can only leave your place of residence if necessary. According to the affix, all businesses and companies that require employees' presence and are not subject to exceptions must suspend their activities.
