The Lithuanian police do not intend to abandon the plan to organize a protest action during the NATO summit in Vilnius due to low wages and excessive workload, Roma Katinienė, chairman of the police union, told LRT radio, Report informs.
“There is no wrong time for the police to express their opinion. It is not a shame for us to protest at such a moment,” she said. “It is a shame for the state, for the authorities, that police officers receive insufficient salaries for their dangerous work. This negatively affects their motivation ".
The trade union calls on its members to protest against the recently increased workload and to demand higher wages and more funding for the medical rehabilitation of police officers.
