Lithuania will concentrate assistance to Ukraine this year on the transfer of weapons and the training of the servicemen, according to the Ministry of Defense of the Baltic Republic, Report informs referring to Russian media.
“We need to adapt our capabilities to the changing needs of Ukraine and strive to ensure that the volume of our military assistance does not decrease,” Defense Minister Arvydas Anusauskas said.
He said that the main areas of cooperation with Kyiv have been outlined: first of all, this will concern the transfer of weapons and various ammunition.
“It is planned to purchase and transfer to Ukraine the equipment produced in Lithuania - night vision devices, thermal imagers, means of combating unmanned vehicles,” the report says.
In addition, Lithuania will continue to help Ukraine with the repair of equipment and the training of military specialists. The country also intends to offer Kyiv expert assistance in military reform.
In early December, it was reported that Vilnius was planning to transfer artillery shells of 155 mm caliber to Kyiv. In November, Lithuanian citizens raised $750,000 for three maritime drones for Ukraine.
