Leak of water containing radionuclides at Japan’s Fukushima-1

A leak of radioactive water has occurred at the Japanese nuclear power plant “Fukushima-1,” according to the report of the operator company Tokyo Electric Power (TEPCO), Report informs referring to Gazeta.ru.

“Employees discovered a water leak from the pipe. The presence of radioactive elements was recorded,” the message says.

According to the Asahi newspaper, the volume of leaked water is 5.5 tons. It is noted that the concentration of radioactive elements reached 22 billion becquerels. The release of radioactive water into the ocean was not recorded.
