Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, and Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, are becoming twin cities, Lord Mayor of Copenhagen Sophie Hæstorp Andersen said, Report informs, citing foreign press.
According to her, the goal is to show support for Kyiv and Ukraine.
She noted that Denmark hosted several thousand Ukrainians last year, and does their best to help those people in difficult times, hoping they can do more for their homeland.
Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko contacted the mayor of Copenhagen to conclude an agreement between the two capitals. Experts are currently discussing the text of the agreement.
As reported, the approval of local authorities is required.
The contract is expected to be valid for three years.
