Hungarian FM says attempts to discredit Orban's peace mission failed

Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó highlighted the "failed attempts to discredit the peace mission" after Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s diplomatic visits, which led to significant talks between key international leaders, Hungarian Prime Minister’s spokesperson Zoltan Kovacs wrote on X, Report informs.

"PM Orbán's visits to Kyiv, Moscow, Beijing, and Florida prompted major diplomatic engagements," Szijjártó emphasized.

He also pointed out Brussels’ apparent support for Ukraine's oil transit ban, which "jeopardizes the energy security of Hungary and Slovakia".

"Brussels' enthusiasm for the Ukrainian measure has exposed their bias, endangering the energy supply of two EU member states," he noted.

Addressing recent claims that Hungary allows Russian and Belarusian spies into the EU, FM Szijjártó clarified that all EU countries independently handle third-country nationals’ procedures.

"Hungary’s processes are strict and prioritize national security," he affirmed, criticizing MEP Manfred Weber and others for spreading these falsehoods.
