Greece starts preparations for complete cessation of gas supplies from Russia

While visiting the LNG terminal on the island of Revitus, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis spoke on the need for a complete cessation of gas supplies from Russia, the government’s press service says.

Report informs citing RIA Novosti that the Revitus Liquefied Natural Gas Terminal is currently the only LNG terminal in Greece and one of the most important energy infrastructures in Greece and in entire southeastern Europe. The Greek government and the Greek gas transmission system operator DESFA intend to build an additional floating LNG storage facility.

The Revitus LNG terminal has a total LNG storage capacity of 225,000 cubic meters, consisting of two tanks of 65,000 cubic meters each and one with a capacity of 95,000 cubic meters. DESFA is considering adding a floating storage facility (FSU) to the terminal, increasing the total storage capacity to over 380,000 cubic meters.

At the same time, DESFA is expected to increase the terminal's regasification capability by 12%.
