Greece and Hungary mull alternative options for gas supply

Greek Minister of Environment and Energy Kostas Skrekas discussed with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó the possibility of supplying natural gas to Budapest, said the Press Service of Greek Ministry of Environment and Energy, Report informs, citing the foreign media.

Skrekas presented to his Hungarian counterpart the Greek government's plan for an uninterrupted supply of gas to the country in connection with military operations in Ukraine. The parties considered the possibility of transporting natural gas to Hungary via Bulgaria and Romania in case of problems with supplies from Russia.

They also stressed the importance of ending dependence on Russia's energy resources, and in this regard, the development of gas fields and green energy in the Eastern Mediterranean.
