Germany confirms 4 cases of monkeypox infection

The German Ministry of Health has confirmed four cases of monkeypox infection in the country, Report informs citing RIA Novosti.

“So far, there are four confirmed cases in Germany. It is possible to predict new cases, taking into account the contacts of the diseased and the potential routes of spread of the disease... As far as we know, most patients tolerate the disease easily. According to available information, transmission of the disease is possible only through close contact. Therefore, we now proceed from the fact that the rate of spread will be moderate,” a spokesman for the German Ministry of Health said.

Cases of monkeypox infection have been identified in several countries, including the UK, Sweden, Italy, France, Australia, Canada, Germany and Spain.
