French government uses repression to suppress new independence movement

About a hundred members and supporters of the new Corsican independence movement Nazione held a protest in front of a police station in the commune of Bastia in Corsica on January 30, opposing the arrest of two of its activists, Report informs, citing Corse Martin.
Members of the Bastia municipality, including mayor Pierre Savelli, his deputy Paul Thierry, and municipal councilor responsible for gender equality Lauda Guidicelli, also joined the protests.
