The European Commission appealed to the European Court of Justice in the disciplinary procedure against Hungary due to the laws adopted in this country in the field of migration, Report informs citing the RIA Novosti.
Today, the European Commission decided to refer Hungary to the Court of Justice of the EU concerning legislation that criminalises activities in support of asylum applications and further restricts the right to request asylum," the statement reads.
Notably, the Hungarian Parliament approved a number of bills that impose restrictions on non-governmental organizations and criminalize assistance to illegal migrants.
Hungary opposes the mandatory quota of distribution of migrants.
