EU proposes sanctions on 10 Hamas political bureau members

The European Commission has approved proposals for individual sanctions targeting 10 members of the Hamas political bureau.
According to Report, this was announced by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, following today's meeting of the European Commission's College.
The listed individuals include figures based both in Gaza and the West Bank, as well as in other countries.
The European Commission explained that the sanctions would involve the freezing of assets and other financial holdings, as well as a ban on entering EU territory.
Hamas is already designated as a terrorist organization by the European Union.
For the decision to take effect, it must be formally approved by the European Council.
