Death toll in Haiti earthquake grows to 2,248

The death toll in the earthquake that hit Haiti on August 14 has risen to 2,248, the civil defense department of the republic said.
Report informs, citing foreign media, that 2,207 deaths were recorded earlier. According to the department, 12,763 people suffered, 329 are considered missing. More than 53,000 buildings in the area were ruined, and over 83,000 were destroyed partially.
The magnitude 7.2 earthquake occurred in Haiti on August 14. The government introduced the state of emergency for a month.
