Copenhagen launches four-day work week experiment

Copenhagen starts a flexible work week experiment, with some employees in certain departments to be able to choose a four-day work week instead of the usual five days, Copenhagen Mayor Sophie Hæstorp Andersen said, Report informs via TASS.

"As a municipality, we must provide the best possible service to the people of Copenhagen and therefore must do everything possible to create an attractive place to work with the right work-life balance, as this is important for job satisfaction and attracting new employees. So I am very pleased that we're starting a flexible work week experiment. We're working closely with professional bodies and I'm looking forward to overseeing that experiment," she said.

Those who will be given the opportunity to try out the new workweek should use different work organization models. For example, the working hours will be increased with a reduction in the number of working days, or the number of working hours will not change with fixed free days.
