Canada expands sanctions on Russia

The Canadian authorities are adding 62 more Russian individuals and one defense sector organization to the sanctions list, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said at the Crimean Platform online summit, Report informs citing TASS.
"Today (on August 23), we are announcing new sanctions against 62 more people and one defense sector organization [of the Russian Federation] that are involved in Russia's war in Ukraine," he said. Trudeau stressed that Ottawa's sanctions actions do not concern food.
Canada will also provide additional assistance to Ukrainian structures such as the Ministry of Defense and the national police by donating the necessary equipment and providing technical support, Trudeau said.
