Brussels, Chisinau sign a €1.9B plan to support Moldova's development

Moldova and the European Union (EU) have signed a 1.9 billion euro development plan for the country, most of which will be provided as loans, with a portion as grants, Report informs via European Pravda.
"On May 9, Moldova's Prime Minister, Dorin Recean, and European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, signed the 1.9 billion euro Moldova Development Plan in the EU, which was adopted in March 2025. The package provides for 1.5 billion euros in loans and approximately 400 million euros in grants to the country over three years," the newspaper stated.
The funds will be used to accelerate socio-economic reforms, strengthen resilience, and promote Moldova's integration into Europe.
"This plan is our largest support package for Moldova to date, a clear signal that we want a prosperous and free Moldova to be firmly 'settled' in our Union," said Marta Kos.
