Bashar al-Assad refuses to negotiate with Turkish representatives

Former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has refused to negotiate with Turkish representatives, despite numerous attempts by Ankara to arrange a meeting, Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said in an interview with Al Arabiya, Report informs.

Fidan emphasized that Ankara has repeatedly asked Assad to hold negotiations involving third parties, including Iraq, as a mediator.

He added that Turkish officials have attempted to visit Syria and have personally appealed to Damascus, but Assad has rejected all proposals.
