Austin says response to attacks on US bases in Middle East not ruled out

The United States can respond to attacks on its bases in the Middle East at a time chosen by Washington, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin told journalists in the Indian capital, answering a question about attacks on American military bases in the Middle East.

He said the time of the strikes cannot be predicted or projected. According to Austin, it will be done at a time convenient to the United States.

He added that attacks on the US facilities and people must stop.
