More than 260 people have been detained during protests against restrictions and vaccinations in Sydney and Melbourne, the two largest cities in Australia, Report informs, referring to foreign media.

Over 1,500 police officers have been involved in the planned protests in Sydney, and some regions suspended public transport.

In Melbourne, the clash between hundreds of protesters and police resulted in the arrest of 235 people. Another 193 people were fined for violating public order and sanitation.
