Hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced as a result of Russia's war in Ukraine for 14 days. Along with Ukrainian citizens, among them are foreigners living in the country, including Azerbaijanis. Immigrants from Ukraine mainly go to the European Union.
Report's Eastern Europe Bureau has visited the border checkpoints in Uzhhorod, Vishne Nimetsk and Chop, Ukraine's main borders with the Union. The checkpoints in these cities, located in the Zakarpattia Oblast (province) of Ukraine, border the EU countries of Hungary and Slovakia.
According to local border guards, about 4,000-5,000 people leave the country each day. According to the military regime, Ukrainian men aged 18-60 are not allowed to leave the country.
