TURKPA Secretary-General: Heydar Aliyev's merits made deep contribution to strengthening Turkic world

Heydar Aliyev's merits for the unity and solidarity of the entire Turkic world contributed deeply to the strengthening of the international reputation of the Turkic world, Secretary-General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA), Mehmet Süreyya Er, said at a special session of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) on the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev held on May 16, Report informs.

According to him, Heydar Aliyev made tireless efforts to unify the Turkic world, which was separated from each other in different periods of history: "The successful results of his purposeful activities have encouraged continuous steps in this direction. Heydar Aliyev did not see the unity of the Turkic world just as a cultural ethnographic unity based on the identity of ethnic roots, he focused on the future of this unity and constantly emphasized the importance of the closeness of the Turkic peoples.”
