Speaker: Defining strategic goals for Azerbaijan boosted efficiency of government activities

The socio-economic development strategy implemented under the leadership of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has brought new great successes to the people and the state, Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova said while speaking at today's plenary session of the parliament regarding the annual report of the Cabinet of Ministers for 2024, Report informs.

Gafarova noted that the defining strategic goals for the development of Azerbaijan by the head of state has boosted the purposefulness and efficiency of the government's activities:

"Thought-out measures have been implemented to protect the country's economic stability, modernization and social well-being."

Gafarova added that last year's growth in gross domestic product was achieved at the expense of both the oil and non-oil and gas sectors:

"Important measures are being taken to diversify the economy, especially to realize the transport and transit potential, and to develop agriculture, tourism, the digital and green economy. The work done by the government in this regard serves to make the economy sustainable."
