In Azerbaijan, upon the expiration of the mandate of the deputies, their diplomatic passports are revoked, MP Sabir Rustamxanli said at a plenary session of the parliament, Report informs.

According to him, this issue should be reconsidered and the diplomatic passports of persons, who are no longer engaged in parliamentary activities should not be revoked.

First Deputy Chairman of the Milli Majlis Ali Huseynli noted that the provisions on the diplomatic passport of a parliamentarian are reflected in the law "On the Status of a Deputy": "If the MPs come up with proposals on this issue, it can be considered."

Parliament Speaker Sahiba Gafarova stressed that MPs have repeatedly raised this issue, in connection with which it can be taken into account.
