The Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan has approved an agreement on air communication between Azerbaijan and Israel.

Report informs that the bill was submitted for discussion at today's parliamentary session.

Under the agreement, passengers who go directly to transit on the territory of one state, without leaving the airport area allocated for these purposes, will undergo simplified control, with the exception of security measures regarding baggage and air cargo. The parties will also provide each other with all necessary assistance on the basis of a request to prevent any other threat to the security of civil aviation.

The document notes that the agreement signed on June 30, 2022 in Tel Aviv to establish air communication between Azerbaijan and Israel consists of 25 articles and additions.

The provisions of the agreement are also subject to the provisions of the Chicago Convention applicable to international air services. In accordance with the agreement, the parties have the right to appoint in writing one or more airline companies to perform the agreed services on the established routes.

After discussions, the deputies voted for the adoption of the document.
