Azerbaijani parliament discussing draft law on renaming Republic Day and Independence Day 

The new draft law "On Independence Day" was discussed in the first reading at today's plenary session of the Azerbaijani parliament (Milli Majlis).

Report informs that the MPs are sharing their opinions on the bill.

According to the draft law, Azerbaijan will mark May 28 – Republic Day as Independence Day and October 18 – Independence Day as the Day of Restoration of Independence every year.

Independence Day will be a non-working day, the Day of Restoration of Independence – a working day.
