NTRC to discuss issue of opening new news channel next week

The documents submitted to the National Broadcasting and Radio Council (NTRC) for the opening of the new channel will be reviewed after April 20, Chairman of the Board Nushiravan Maharramli told Report.

He said that the final decision will be made at the council's meeting.

Notably, NTRC announced a tender for the opening of a special (news) nationwide television channel (48th frequency for SD broadcasting for Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, 37th frequency for SD broadcasting). Three candidates - "Real Analysis Information Center" LLC (Real TV), "TV Media Azerbaijan" LLC and "RTV" LLC - submitted their bids.
