“Russia stands for consistent and strict observance of all provisions of the trilateral statement of Azerbaijan, Russia and Armenia. We hope that this will create the necessary conditions for normalizing relations between Baku and Yerevan, including in terms of existing complex bilateral issues,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a weekly briefing, Report informs.
Zakharova noted that the meeting of the religious leaders of Azerbaijan, Russia and Armenia has a unique format: “It contributes to the deepening of interfaith dialogue. This meeting will serve to normalize relations and improve the overall situation in the South Caucasus, including strengthening confidence, solving humanitarian problems and preserving cultural heritage sites.”
