Russian business is showing interest in projects in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani MP Nizami Safarov said at the 20th meeting of the interparliamentary commission on cooperation between the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan and the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation in Baku.
He noted that currently 22 different projects for the restoration of liberated territories, in such areas as energy, railway transport and others, are under consideration by various government agencies of Azerbaijan.
According to him, from 1995 to 2022, Russia's direct investment in Azerbaijan amounted to $8 billion, of which $6 billion was in the non-oil sector.
Nizami Safarov noted that there is also an increase in investment from Azerbaijan to Russia.
"Trade turnover between the countries in 2022 amounted to more than $3 billion, which is 23% more than in 2021. In addition, there is an increase in the tourist flow," the MP noted.
