Russia praises Azerbaijan's enormous work to create Russian-Turkish center

"Perhaps the longest and bloodiest conflict in the post-Soviet space was actually stopped through the efforts and will of the leaders of the three states in the fall of last year," Deputy Defense Minister of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Alexander Fomin has said.

Report informs that Fomin spoke at the opening ceremony of the joint Turkish-Russian monitoring center built in the liberated Aghdam region.

He noted that close cooperation was organized between the Russian and Turkish defense ministries to create a joint center to monitor the ceasefire.

"Azerbaijan has carried out an enormous work to create this wonderful center and equip it with everything necessary for its work. It is a new stage in our peacekeeping activities. We have a great positive experience of interaction with the Republic of Turkey, the Turkish military. An excellent example is our interaction in the post-war settlement in Syria. And I appeal to the Russian and Turkish soldiers: now the speed and firmness of all the necessary measures taken to establish peace on the long-suffering land depend on you," he concluded.
