Heads of security services of Azerbaijan and Armenia meet in Moscow

Head of the State Security Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Ali Nagiyev, paid an official visit to the Russian Federation at the invitation of Director of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), General of the Army Alexander Bortnikov.

Colonel-General Ali Nagiyev and Director of the National Security Service of Armenia Armen Abazyan held a meeting through the Director of the Russian FSB Alexander Bortnikov, Report states, citing the website of the State Security Service (SSS).

The sides discussed the current state of implementation of the obligations arising from the trilateral agreement signed by the Presidents of Russia, Azerbaijan, and the Prime Minister of Armenia on November 10, 2020. The meeting also focused on border security, the fight against terrorism in the liberated territories, clarifying the fate of missing and hostages due to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, defining burial locations, and exchanging prisoners, other issues of mutual interest in the field of security.

They also stressed the importance of establishing an appropriate communication channel for exchanging information, if necessary.
