Hamid Hamidov: Restoration of Karabakh of great importance for South Caucasus

The restoration of Karabakh is of great importance for Azerbaijan and for the development of the entire South Caucasus region, Media Director of Global Media Group Hamid Hamidov said in an interview with the CBC TV channel, Report informs.

"The pace of restoration work is amazing; resettlement to the liberated territories will revive the economy of Azerbaijan and the region as a whole, and will make it possible to turn Karabakh into a real Eden," he said.

Hamidov noted that almost all cities in Karabakh are being rebuilt from scratch, so they can be designed to be comfortable, beautiful, modern and capable of using the state-of-the-art technologies.

Hamidov emphasized that 20 years ago, President Ilham Aliyev vowed to restore the territorial integrity of the country.

"To achieve this goal, we systematically continued to increase our military power, purchased modern weapons, etc."

According to him, at the moment, many experts believe that Azerbaijan has one of the most modern and powerful armies in the world.

"In parallel, the president of the country paid attention to education. The budget allocated for defense and education is very important," Hamidov added.

Hamid Hamidov also spoke about Heydar Aliyev's role in building modern Azerbaijan: "At that time, there was chaos, confusion, and an unstable economy in the country. All this began to be restored during the presidency of Heydar Aliyev, he normalized the domestic political climate, and relations in the foreign policy plane also began to be restored.
