A delegation of journalists and media experts working in the United States visited the liberated territories of Karabakh as part of the trip to Azerbaijan, Report informs.
The program of the trip started from the city of Aghdam, which is called the Hiroshima of the Caucasus.
First, the employee of the Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) informed the American guests about the landmines that were massively buried by the Armenian armed forces on the territory of Azerbaijan, including in the Aghdam district during the occupation years, and answered the questions of the journalists, two surface mine clearance operations were demonstrated.
Then, the employee of the special representation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the liberated territories which are part of the Karabakh economic region (with the exception of the Shusha region) reported that most of the historical, cultural and religious monuments in the territory were destroyed as a result of Armenian vandalism.
American journalists visited the Juma Mosque, Martyrs' Alley and Aghdam Drama Theater. They were shown photos depicting the state of these architectural monuments before the occupation. The foreign guests did not hide their shock from the scene they encountered.
The guests also got acquainted with the progress of restoration works in Aghdam and visited the Aghdam Conference Center.
The delegation was accompanied by employees of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora.
