Family of martyr Ilgar Mirzayev presented medal "National Hero of Azerbaijan"

The "National Hero of Azerbaijan" medal was presented to the family of Colonel Ilgar Mirzayev, a serviceman of the Azerbaijani Army who was martyred during the Tovuz battles.

Report informs that the head of the Khatai Executive Power, Rafig Guliyev presented the medal to the son of the martyr Elvin Mirzayev.

Ilgar Anzor Mirzayev was born on May 8, 1973 in the Gardabani region of Georgia.

Mirzayev was killed during heavy fighting in the Tovuz district of the Azerbaijani-Armenian border while preventing an enemy attack on the front line on July 14 last year. He was buried in the Second Alley of Honors.

By a decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev on December 9, 2020, Colonel Ilgar Mirzayev was named "National Hero of Azerbaijan."
