It is important to prevent a repetition of the Khojaly tragedy, and that all those responsible be punished, British lawyer Malcolm Shaw said during his video speech at a conference in Baku dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide, Report informs.
He said that what happened on February 26, 1992 in Khojaly is a war crime.
What happened in Khojaly is a very big violation of the norms of international law by Armenia, Shaw noted.
He reminded that 613 civilians were killed that night, including 106 women, 63 children, and hundreds were missing.
The tragedy can be called a massacre, which really was a violation of all international norms, said the British lawyer.
He added that it is very important that this doesn’t happen again, and all those responsible for these crimes be punished.
