Armenian expert: Authorities greatly underestimate losses

The statement by the deputy prime minister of Armenia about almost 4,000 people killed during the war would be reliable if the methods of calculating combat losses were presented, Report informs citing Armenian military analyst Hayk Khachikyan.

"It is not clear whether the servicemen from Nagorno-Karabakh, killed in the war and buried in Nagorno-Karabakh, were taken into account. According to my observations, the data on the losses of the Armenian side should be less than 6,000 people," Khachikyan added.

On January 20, Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Avinyan said 3,439 bodies of those killed from the Armenian side were discovered in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Meanwhile, the Armenian authorities claim that Armenia's losses in the war do not exceed 4,000 people.
