Azerbaijan is one of the brightest examples of a successful model of multiculturalism and tolerance, the spokesman for the Apostolic Prefecture of the Catholic Church in Azerbaijan, Tural Aghayev, told Report in Hadrut.
"Being a citizen of Azerbaijan and a Catholic, I can say that the relationship between religions and ethnic communities in Azerbaijan is exemplary. This has been noted more than once at the highest level, including by Pope Francis. In this regard, we are happy citizens - we have complete freedom of religion," Tural Aghayev said.
“Being here is one of those cases when words are powerless,” he shared his impressions of the trip.
“You experience joy, pride and sadness at the same time, because we understand at what cost we have succeeded in it. We remember our martyrs and, among other things, came to pray for the repose of their souls."
According to Tural Aghayev, the nature of Karabakh is beautiful, but much remains to be done to breathe life into these territories again.
Today, representatives of the Christian religious communities of Azerbaijan arrived in the village of Hadrut, Khojavand District, liberated from occupation. The trip was organized by the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations of Azerbaijan with the support of the Foundation for the Promotion of Moral Values on the occasion of the Easter holiday.
