The participation of more than 300 guests at the conference testifies to the importance of the issues discussed, Vugar Suleymanov, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), said, according to Report.
Speaking during the 3rd international conference on Mitigating Environmental Impact of Landmines: Resource Mobilization for Safe and Green Future in Zangilan, Suleymanov said the conference will provide ample opportunities to mobilize efforts in addressing the global problem of landmines and reducing their environmental impact.
"In cooperation with our long-standing strategic partner UNDP, with whom we have maintained a fruitful partnership since 1999, this conference is dedicated to a topic of paramount importance not only for our country but also on a regional and global scale," he said.
