ANAMA chief: International conference on demining in Baku fruitful

An international conference on the topic "Humanitarian demining and sustainable development goals" has completed its work in Baku, Report informs, citing Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) Vugar Suleymanov.

"It was a fruitful conference, within the framework of it a wide exchange of views took place, proposals were made that will be reflected in the final document of the event," Vugar Suleymanov said.

Also, according to him, within the framework of the conference, ANAMA signed protocols of intention to develop cooperation with four organizations.

"Based on these documents, we will determine the areas of cooperation in the future," Suleymanov added.

The conference covered topics such as improving cooperation mechanisms to intensify global demining efforts, the joint participation in this process of government organizations, the international community, the private sector, and civil society, the application of best practices, innovative methods, and technological innovations.

It was attended by about 120 participants from 30 countries, including 20 officials of structures specializing in the field of demining from the UK, Serbia, Switzerland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Angola, Cambodia, Jordan, Sudan, etc. Among the participants, there were also members of parliaments of foreign countries, representatives of international organizations, and embassies.
