Scientists reveal new coronavirus type potentially dangerous for humans

US scientists have discovered a new coronavirus which may be potentially dangerous for humans, Report informs, citing the Science magazine.

The researchers associate this coronavirus type with pneumonia in eight children in Malaysia in 2017-2018. However, they cannot say for sure whether those children were infected with this type of coronavirus since the scientists have managed to attain the survival of the virus only within dog cells.

All the same, the material notes that new coronavirus may be dangerous for people since they can mutate. Scientists say that even the potential pet-to-human transmission of coronaviruses speaks of the need to vaccinate these animals.
