Baku.30 January. REPORT.AZ/ Salman Rushdie, the award-winning author, is about to finish a surprise new book, he has disclosed, Report informs citing foreign media.
Rushdie, the Booker Prize and PEN/ Pinter Price winner, revealed he has nearly finished a new, short novel to be published soon.
The 250-page work, entitled Two years eight months and 28 days, will be based on the Arabian Nights, and is his first novel for adults in six years.
Rushdie, the author of Midnight's Children and The Satanic Verses, told the Cheltenham Literature Festival he is currently "tweaking, finishing and tailoring" the book, which he has been quietly working on at home in New York.
"I'm in danger of finishing a novel," he said. "I'm getting to the end, which is not the same as finishing.
