Water to be supplied from Aras to Heydar Aliyev Water Reservoir

In 2024, the project of supplying water from the Aras Reservoir to the Heydar Aliyev Water Reservoir will be implemented, Report informs.

For this purpose, the construction of a new pumping station and a 30-kilometer-long double pipeline with a diameter of 1,200 mm will be carried out. The tender procedure in this regard has already been concluded. Adequate funds have been allocated.

The construction of this water line will be carried out within the framework of the "State Program for the Socio-Economic Development of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for the Years 2023–2027." According to the Detailed Action Plan of the program, 44,680,000 manats ($26.3 million) were initially allocated for the financing of both this and other infrastructure projects.

So, the territories of Nakhchivan city, Babak, and Kangarli districts will be provided with continuous irrigation water.
