Number of electric buses in Azerbaijan skyrocket in August

In August 2025, 166 electric buses were used in urban and inter-district regular passenger transport in Azerbaijan, according to the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, Report informs.
This marks an increase of 136 units, or 5.5 times, compared to the same period in 2024.
The number of compressed natural gas (CNG)-powered buses reached 1,337 in August, which is 222 units (19.9%) more than in August 2024.
Meanwhile, the number of diesel buses was 3,731, reflecting a slight increase of 18 buses (0.5%) compared to the same month last year.
