Cargo transportation in TRACECA's Azerbaijan segment rises

In January-July 2021, the volume of cargo transported on the Azerbaijani part of the Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA) was 23,670,300 tons, and the cargo turnover was 5,585,900,000 ton/km, respectively, down 810,200 tons or 3.3% from in the same months of 2020.
However, compared to a year earlier, the cargo turnover increased by 35.8 million ton/km or 0.6% in the reporting period.
According to statistics, 13,308,600 tons (56.2%) of all cargo were carried out by road, 7,679,300 tons (32.5%) - by rail, 2,682,400 tons (11.3%) - by sea.
In the total volume of cargo transportation along the corridor, 22.4% or 5,311,400 tons were transit cargo, 355,800 tons or 7.2% more than a year earlier.
