Azerbaijani customs chief vows to further deepen ties with Georgia

"Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the development and strengthening of relations with Georgia. Relations between our countries in the customs, trade, economic, political, and cultural spheres are at the highest level," Chairman of the State Customs Committee Safar Mehdiyev said in a video congratulation to the participants of the event in Tbilisi dedicated to the International Day of the Customs Officer, the Georgian bureau of Report informs.

He noted that the joint participation of Georgia and Azerbaijan in bilateral and multilateral formats, in particular in the World Customs Organization, GUAM, and the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization, is aimed at deepening close cooperation.

“Our cooperation with Georgia on the application of the principle of unified management of the state border, as well as ensuring the uninterrupted movement of international cargo along the transit corridor, is at a high level. I hope that in the future cooperation between our customs authorities will be further strengthened and deepened.”

The chairman of the State Customs Committee congratulated the Georgian customs officers on their professional holiday and wished them success in their activities.
