Azerbaijan's "Lachin" tanker among TOP 50 best vessels in world

The first tanker built at the Baku shipyard under the project of Ukrainian engineers was included in the TOP 50 best ships in the world.

Report says, citing Embassy of Ukraine in Azerbaijan, the tanker "Lachin" was among the fifty best civil vessels of the world in 2019, according to the British Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA).

The "Lachin" tanker was built in Baku by order of the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company. Its laying took place on February 9, 2017, and two years later, it was ready for operation. The length of the vessel is 141 m, width -16.98 m, draft-4.54 m/3.6 m.

Notably, on December 13 last year, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev took part in the commissioning ceremony of the Lachin tanker.
